Game of the Week: Men's Basketball at Williams College
By Bill Nahill, Sports Editor
Always a big game regardless of the rankings, this year's first Amherst-Williams tumult has added importance as it will likely be between two top-10 teams. Last season the Ephs took three of four from the Jeffs, and Amherst will come in looking to take revenge for a Final Four loss last year. Both teams are currently undefeated; the Jeffs have won each of their first five, while the Ephs have won seven. Two of Williams' three victories in the 2003-04 series came in Williamstown, so Amherst would love to get an early-season victory at Chandler Gymnasium. It won't be easy, however, as the Ephs have won a record 63 straight there. The high-scoring trio of Andrew Schiel '06E, John Casnocha '06 and John Bedford '06 will have to overcome a Williams defense that is holding opponents to under 60 points a game.
