First-year Schoppel scored his second game-winning goal in a row last weekend as the Jeffs blanked Castleton State and Skidmore Colleges. He scored the Jeffs' first goal in their impressive 12-0 shut-out of Castleton State. Co-captain Beau Kretzman '05 and A.J. Greco '06 assisted Schoppel with the goal which came after just over three minutes of play. The next day, Schoppel scored yet another decisive goal for the team, this time in their shut-out of Skidmore. Assisted by co-captain Jonathan Hill '05, Schoppel netted the game-winner only 5:39 into the first period.

Co-captain forward Schiel led the men's basketball team to victory in key games against Williams and Trinity Colleges during Interterm. The Jeffs beat the Ephs, 88-78, at Chandler Gymnasium for the first time in four years. Schiel scored 20 points and had six rebounds in the Amherst victory, which was the first of the team's current six-game winning streak. At the NESCAC opener against Trinity, Schiel tallied a game-high 27 points and added five rebounds as the Jeffs defeated the Bantams, 85-82. The men rank seventh in Div. III polls.
