Game of the Week: Men's basketball vs. Williams College
By Bill Nahill, Sports Editor
The fourth-ranked men's basketball team will look to complete a season sweep against hated foe and NESCAC rival Williams College on Friday. The Jeffs won the first meeting against the Ephs at Williamstown, 88-78, on Jan. 8, and have since beaten the Wesleyan University Cardinals twice to clinch Amherst's first outright Little Three Championship since the 2000-01 season. Amherst will put its undefeated conference record on the line as the team hopes to maintain the number-one seed heading into the NESCAC Tournament. The Jeffs will also be looking to avenge their three losses at the hands of the Ephs last year. In order to come away with the win, Amherst will rely on senior co-captain Andrew Schiel, who leads the team with 16.2 points per game. The Jeffs will have to stop Williams' Tucker Cain, who averages a noteworthy 18.5 points per game.
