Game of the Week: Women's Squash at CSA National Championships
The women's squash team has had many ups and downs this season, a statement best illustrated by Amherst's performance last week. The Jeffs crushed Mt. Holyoke College and Wesleyan University, 9-0, before ending up on the wrong end of the same score against Williams College and Yale University. The 10-7 Jeffs are ranked 11th in the nation as they head into the College Squash Association's Team Championships this weekend. Amherst will compete in the Kurtz division for teams ranked 9-16 nationally; just Bates College and Cornell University are ranked ahead of the Jeffs. As the team's consistent number-one player all season long, senior co-captain Ashley Harmeling will be put to the test against the nation's top players. However, the performances of all nine players will be crucial in determining how the women's squash team will end this bumpy season.
