Coming into the weekend, the Jeffs needed wins over conference powerhouses Colby and Bowdoin Colleges to keep hopes of a NESCAC Tournament first-round home game. On Friday night against the Mules of Colby, things looked bleak as the Jeffs fell down 2-0 halfway through the second period. From that point on, however, Fillman turned into a brick wall, turning away 33 shots on the evening and allowing the Jeffs to pull out the 4-3 victory despite being out-shot 36-16. The result was similar the next day against Bowdoin as Fillman stopped 23 shots to earn his second consecutive win.

• Brittany Sasser '08
Sasser has been outstanding for the women's swimming and diving team all season. Nevertheless, her performance at the NESCAC Championships this weekend was astounding. Against the toughest competition in the conference, Sasser had three individual first places and a relay win. She smashed NESCAC records in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke. In the latter she beat the second-place finisher by over four seconds. Her victory in the 200-yard individual medley came as a tie, but it set new meet and conference records. Sasser was also on the winning 800-yard freestyle relay team that set meet and pool records as well.
