GAME OF THE WEEK: Men's Basketball hosts NCAA Second-Round Game
The men's basketball team defeated Trinity and Bates Colleges last weekend in front of boisterous LeFrak Gymnasium crowds to capture the Jeffs' third NESCAC crown in five years. Amherst will continue to host as the team advances to its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament this weekend. The men enter NCAA play with a record of 25-1-including a College-record 18-straight wins since their lone loss to The College of New Jersey on Jan. 3. Their outstanding performance has earned the Jeffs the number-one rank in Div. III polls and the enviable position of host of the Northeast Region of the NCAA Tournament. The Jeffs' next contest will be Saturday in the second-round NCAA Tournament game against the winner of Thursday's match-up between Norwich University and Springfield College. A win on Saturday will bring home-court advantage to the Jeffs until the Final Four, where the men hope to claim the program's first national championship.
