Game of the Week: Men's Basketball hosts NCAA Sectionals
By Bill Nahill, Sports Editor
The men's basketball team advanced to the Div. III NCAA Sweet 16 for the fourth-consecutive year and earned the right to host the sectionals for the first time in school history. The Jeffs have won a school record 19-consecutive contests and will look to advance to their second-consecutive Final Four over the weekend. They will first have to defeat the Yellow Jackets of the University of Rochester on Friday. The Yellow Jackets are led by Seth Hauben, who averages an impressive 19.3 points and 12.2 rebounds per game. The Jeffs will counter with senior co-captain Andrew Schiel, a finalist for the Jostens Trophy awarded to the Div. III player of the year. Should Amherst defeat Rochester, the Jeffs will play their quarterfinal tilt on Saturday against the winner of St. John Fisher College and SUNY-Potsdam.
