The sophomore squash star was the runner-up in the Malloy Division consolation bracket at Dartmouth College last weekend. Mathur won three matches, including one over teammate Gifford Sommerkamp '05, before falling in the final to Denison University's Ankur Gupta. After dropping his first-round match, Mathur rattled off quick three-game victories over Denison's Max Laverty and George Washington University's Ben Hoefs. In the semifinals, Mathur faced a familiar opponent in teammate Sommerkamp. Mathur proved that he deserved his position ahead of Sommerkamp in the Amherst lineup, winning a hard-fought four-game match with an emphatic 9-0 fourth game. In the finals, Mathur came up just short against Gupta in four tough games.
