GAME OF THE WEEK: Softball at Williams College (2)
By Laura Turner, Sports Editor
After suffering a tough 7-0 loss to Trinity College last Tuesday, the Jeffs hope to have better luck when they travel for a doubleheader against the Williams College Ephs on Saturday. The Jeffs, ranked just behind the Ephs at third in the NESCAC West Division, eagerly anticipate their match-up with the Ephs every spring, particularly since Amherst hasn't won a game against their archrivals since 2000. While a sweep would be great, just one victory on Saturday would be a cause for celebration. The Jeffs will need many of their key players to step up to the challenge (and plate) on Saturday in order to earn a victory. Among the players on which Amherst depends are pitcher Miya Warner '06, first baseman Laura Trigeiro '06, outfielder Rachel Hoerger '06 and third baseman Caroline Polales '07. The Jeffs will need to bring their bats to get the best of All-America Eph pitcher Liz Gluck.
