• Evan Bruno '08

Bruno's rookie campaign caught fire with a 3-4 effort against Hamilton College on Friday. The designated hitter knocked in a run with a double in the second inning, but the Jeffs still trailed the Continentals 4-3 going into the fourth when Bruno smashed a solo home run to tie the game. He then led off the sixth inning with his second double of the day and put the Jeffs up for good when he reached home. All told, the first-year scored three runs and knocked in three as the Jeffs won 7-4. With the victory, the Jeffs have won eight straight. The streak has put the Jeffs on top of the NESCAC West standings with four conference victories and no losses.

• Dana Kuper '07

Kuper started the week by dealing an assist in the women's lacrosse team's conference win over Bates College last Wednesday, but she was just getting warmed up. Kuper opened the scoring in Saturday's highly-anticipated matchup between the third-ranked Jeffs and the second-ranked Middlebury College Panthers. Kuper finished the game with a season-high four goals and one assist as the Jeffs dropped their first contest of the season. On Sunday, Amherst rebounded against Wheaton College as a result of Kuper's three goal, three assist performance. In total, she racked up seven goals and five assists on the week for the Jeffs, who are now 9-1.
