Garrahan won her second race of the year on Saturday at the Tufts Cross Country Inivtational. The junior All-American finished first in a field of 142 runners and led the Jeffs to a team victory over nine other squads, including four NES-
CAC rivals. Finishing the 6k with a time of 21:53, Garrahan beat the next runner by a full 44 seconds. Garrahan will need to continue to run her best, as the Jeffs have several important tournaments this month, most notably the Little Three Championships and the NESCAC Championships, both of which were won by rival Williams College last year.
• Danny Babkes '06
Babkes won both his singles and doubles matches in helping the men's tennis team utterly destroy visting Salve Regina University on Friday. The 17th-ranked Jeffs swept all nine matches, losing only 17 games in all, including three matches in which they didn't lose a single game. Babkes started the day playing doubles, teaming with first-year Zach Lerner to clinch the doubles point with an 8-1 victory. After just a short respite, Babkes came back to play the top singles spot for the Jeffs, and proved that he had plenty left in the tank, beating his overmatched opponent 6-0. 6-2.
