GAME OF THE WEEK: Women's Ice Hockey vs. Middlebury
In the highly anticipated matchup against top-ranked Middlebury College, the Jeffs will look to dethrone one of the premier hockey programs in the country as Amherst plays host at Orr Rink Friday night. The game promises to be a real test and a win would be quite an accomplishment for a Jeff team that has been unable to stick the Panthers for over five years. If history is any indication as to how the game will turn out, the Jeffs will have to come out firing. They must contain the high-powered Middlebury offense that is led by NESCAC Player of the Week, Annemarie Cellino. Cellino tallied four goals and two assists over the weekend and will be a focal point for the Jeff defense. However, with the emergence of prominent first-year forwards Lindsey Harrington, Tarasai Karega and Anna MacLean and the consistent presence of veteran leadership, the Jeffs have a legitimate shot to assert themselves this year as a force in the NESCAC.
