When runners stepped to the line for the NCAA Div. III meet,
Kim Partee's cross country fate relied on her own two feet.
The sophomore heard the gun and started out with a bang;
Passing many people, she led the whole Amherst gang.
179 harriers finished the course in Partee's dust-
From the way she took off a solid performance was a must.
Partee's heroics helped the Jeffs to a seventh-place score,
Individually, the spot she claimed was number 34.
But Partee earned more than just a time and a place,
She was named All-America for her outstanding race.
Building off of last season when she was the NESCAC's top rookie,
Opponents are now even more afraid to face Amherst's Kim Partee.
Next on the Soph's schedule are indoor and outdoor track,
Two more NCAA meets this year; Bub's knows she'll make it back.
