As the red hot Jeffs skated their way to six-straight wins, junior forward Sean Ellis tallied three goals and an assist during last week's action. In Friday's contest against visiting Connecticut College, Ellis sparked Amherst, slapping home the game's first score and giving Amherst the momentum early. He finished with an unassisted, empty-net goal from his own zone to rack up two points in the game. The Jeffs, behind another solid two point performance from Ellis, took Saturday's game versus conference foe Tufts University with ease. In the third frame, Ellis notched a goal and an assist to all but guarantee an Amherst victory.

In a game that presented the Jeffs with a true challenge, senior leadership provided stability. Senior co-captain John Casnocha led the Jeffs against Colby College in a performance that remindful of the presence and leadership of fellow Bay Area baller Baron Davis. By contributing 17 points, five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals, Casnocha ensured the victory, despite an oustanding performance by Colby center Drew Cohen. The effort and leadership Casnocha exhibited will prove to be necessary as the Jeffs head into NESCAC and NCAA tournament play.
