Bub's Player of the Week: Stacey Johnston '08
By Lauren Benson, Managing Sports Editor
The women's hockey squad had a great week on the ice,

Of the three games the Jeffs played, the team won thrice.

Stacey Johnston gave stellar a performance in goal,

Turning aside 26 St. Anselm shots to start the Jeffs on their roll.

When Amherst battled Trinity College, Johnston was a wall:

Faced with 17 Bantam attempts, she stopped them all.

The zero goals against tied Johnston's season low,

And gave the Jeffs a victory over their conference foe.

On Saturday, Hamilton forwards put Johnston to the test,

But she refused 39 shots, delivering a win for the Jeffs.

NESCAC Player of the Week honors came Johnston's way;

The sophomore and the Amherst team are stepping up their play.

The Jeffs are now tied for fifth in the NESCAC playoff race,

With Johnston in goal, they will surely keep up this high-speed pace.
