GaME OF THE WEEK: Men's Basketball vs. Bates College
What used to be one of the most competitive games for the Jeffs proved otherwise this past weekend as they stomped on NESCAC archrival Williams College in the land of the Ephs, gaining serious momentum as they head into Friday's matchup against visiting Bates College. The Jeffs are currently in a three-way tie atop the conference standings with the Bobcats and Trinity College, and are looking to seperate themselves from the pack. If last weekend's performance is any indication of how the Jeffs will play, look for sophmore point guard Andrew Olsen to control the tempo of the game. Olsen and senior captains John Bedford and John Casnocha have the uncanny ability to slow down the opposition's pace and inspire passionate, yet smart, play from their teammates. As Amherst heads into the final stages of the regular season, the Jeffs will look for the same spark that launched them past Williams to bring a victory against the Bobcats on Friday.
