Saturday night's performance by the Lord Jeffs demonstrated their dominance over pseudo-NESCAC opponent Hamilton College. However, the court presence of junior swingman Dan Wheeler was vital to the success of the Jeffs. While playing 32 minutes, Wheeler poured in 16 points on 6-11 shooting, grabbed five rebounds and contributed three feeds. At a critical point midway through the first half, Wheeler drained a bomb from three-point land to give the momentum to Amherst. Wheeler's leadership and productivity will be relied upon by the Jeffs as they continue to battle their way through the NCAA Tournament.

It was a busy weekend for the Amherst squash program. The Jeffs hosted the CSA Individual National Championships: a giant tournament for the best college squash players in the nation. Junior Caroline Shannon was up to the task. Competing in the Holleran Division for players ranked 33-64 in the nation, Shannon fell in the semifinals of the consolation bracket. She entered the consolation bracket after losing her first match, but picked up her game from there. In her second match she swept Bowdoin College's Jackie Desher, and rebounded from a two-game deficit to win her quarterfinal match.
