GAME OF THE WEEK: Baseball vs. Williams College (Doubleheader)
By Jesse Corradi, Sports Editor
This Saturday will mark the second and third meetings for the Jeffs against their infamous foes from Williamstown, Mass. Amherst currently leads the West division of the NESCAC and is in search of its third league crown in as many years, but the Ephs have yet to play many of the NESCAC opponents, making them a legitimate threat in the chase for the title. The Jeffs have benefitted from the performance of their first-years as they have played a important role in stepping in for key injured players. First-year thirdbaseman Brendan Powers and rightfielder Angus Schaller have shown real offensive promise in thier rookie campaigns. The veteran leadership of pitchers Jude Volek and Nick Kehoe as well as the emergence of sophomore hurler Chris Edgar has stabalized the rotation and established the Jeffs as a serious contender for an NCAA Championship.
