Game of the Week: Women's Lacrosse vs. Middlebury
The women's lacrosse team has always had an intense rivalry with Middlebury. Lacrosse alumni sign emails with the declaration that they will "forever hate the Midd," and the Amherst-Middlebury lacrosse game is frequently scheduled, as it is this season, as the last regular-season game. Middlebury is undefeated in the NESCAC, but both Middlebury and Amherst boast the same 10-1 overall record and the Jeffs come into this weekend's competition after a highly successful doubleheader in Maine and seven-straight wins (eight if they defeat the Jumbos on Wednesday.) Amherst boasts both an incredibly talented starting lineup and a deep bench. Goalie Linda McEvoy '08 has the lowest goals against average in the NESCAC, highlighting not only her amazing goaltending skills but also the dominating force that is the Jeff defense. Saturday's game promises to be a matchup not to be missed.
