With Honors: John Babbott '07 and Meg Ray '08
By Jennifer Ho, Sports Editor
• John Babbott '07

After a semester abroad, Babbot is back with a bang. He has been producing good results in the past few meets, and has proven to his teammates that he can perform under pressure in the 1,500-meter run at the Little Three Championships last weekend. Neck-to-neck with a Williams representative, Babbot's last great burst of speed was enough to garner him both a new personal record and the victory. The win was timely: with the championship season just round the corner, the Jeffs will look to the junior to keep up his fast pace.

• Meg Ray '08

Since her breakthrough race back in the cross country season, Ray has been a whirlwind on the track. In the past two weeks, she has racked up three personal bests: in the 3,000-meter at the UMass-Lowell Invite last weekend, both the 400 and 800-meter at the mid-week home meet, and the 1,500-meter at the Little Three Championships this past weekend, where she slashed her time by 10 seconds. With two more track and field seasons left in her Amherst career, this sophomore is only getting started. Expect her to power up the roster in the meets to come.
