By Louise Stevenson and Jennifer Ho, Sports Editors
• Sarah Heller '09

Sophomore setter Sarah Heller continues to be a force on the court for the Firedogs. This past week the 'Dogs shutout all five of their opponents except Johnson and Wales University, who only managed to win one match. The only setter, Heller is on the court the entire period and consistently notches over 30 assists a game. Most notably, the sophomore racked up 40 assists, 15 digs, and three kills as the 'Dogs downed NESCAC opponent Middlebury College. With an astonishing 10-1 record, the Firedogs are en route to another great season, especially with Heller as Amherst's solid setter.

• Alicia Menezes '08

It's become an annual tradition for tennis player Alicia Menezes '08 to bring home the doubles title at the ITA Women's Div. III New England Championships. This year, Menezes took the crown with first-year Brittany Berckes as her partner-the first time that the junior has been the more experienced half of the winning duo. Both Menezes and Berckes add all-American honors to their list of achievements. Menezes was no slouch in the singles action as well, and was the sole Jeff to fight all the way to the semifinals. Watch for more excellent tennis from this Jeff-and for her to add a fourth ITA title to her collection next year.
