Her talents and leadership have been a huge motivation for her team. "It has been a pleasure and an inspiration watching Piper grow as a person, student and athlete through her experience at Amherst College," said Head Coach Jennifer Hughes about her star goalie. "I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her over the years. On the soccer field, Piper is a gifted athlete who brings a rare intensity to the pitch. Over the years, she has matured into a tremendous leader and provides an incredible verbal presence. As a senior captain, she is truly one of the leaders of this team."
Her teammates agree as well. Senior tri-captain Lesley Pruzansky stated, "Piper is an amazingly talented keeper. She is a great leader both on the field and off. I feel very fortunate to have been able to play with her these past four years."

B: Who is your greatest inspiration?
P: My parents are my greatest inspiration. They have always been incredibly supportive of my athletic endeavors and pushed me to reach my potential. I also accredit a great deal of my soccer success to my high school and club coach, Josh Kalkstein. He taught me how to be a goalkeeper and an immeasurable amount about soccer and life.
What made you choose the Amherst soccer program?
It was funny when I was looking at colleges my junior year, I did this massive two week tour of New England schools and when I visited Amherst I just knew it was the place for me. Plus, it didn't hurt that [Former Head] Coach [Michelle] Morgan heavily advocated that I apply early.
What was your best moment playing soccer at Amherst?
My freshman year we went to the Sweet Sixteen. The entire NCAA Tournament was an amazing experience. One of my personal best moments might be in the NESCAC tournament my freshman year: We went into penalty kicks against both Tufts [University] and Williams [College]. Winning both of those shootouts was incredible.
What are your goals for the rest of the season?
My goal for the rest of the season is to just keep on winning. I'm not ready for my college soccer career to be over. So mainly I just want to keep playing and go as far in the NCAAs as we can.
How do you think the team looking this year?
I think this is the best team I've been a part of at Amherst. It is not just the talent but also the cohesiveness of the team that contributes to our success.
What is the best thing about being on the soccer team?
The girls on the team. Every year our team is comprised of an amazing group of girls, all of whom I consider good friends. We have so much fun together on and off the field.
