GAME OF THE WEEK: Football vs. Williams
By Sarah Gelles, sports editor
Coming off a disappointing loss at the hands of Trinity College, the Jeffs are looking to finish the regular season on a positive note against Williams College this Saturday. Prior to being shut out last weekend, the Jeffs were on a roll, winning five of six games. Williams, however, has fared even better. At 7-0, they have outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points and last Saturday they defeated Wesleyan University at home by the score 51-21. The winner of Saturday's game will take home the Little Three Championship, as both Amherst and Williams have defeated Wesleyan this season. The outcome of the game will likely be determined when Amherst's defense is on the field. The Jeffs average 14 fewer points per game than the Ephs, so for Amherst to have any chance, its defense will have to hold Williams well below their season-average of 34.1 points per game. Amherst's Homecoming crowd could also be a factor.
