While Amherst's faithful got lost in the Homecoming crowd,

In NCAAs, the women's soccer team really wowed.

The Jeffs won twice, now they're in the Sweet Sixteen;

Meg Murphy helped ensure victories over Wheaton and Kean.

Against the latter foe, Murphy provided an assist,

As Amherst added another win to its long list.

The second game had more hype, and not without reason:

Wheaton provided Amherst's only loss in the regular season.

Call it a rookie's innocence, but Murphy didn't shy away,

With a goal 22 seconds in, Murphy showed she came to play.

Just 19 minutes later there was another Murphy score;

The Lyons were the hosts, but the Jeffs showed them the door.

If this NESCAC Rookie of the Year continues to pace the game,

Amherst will surely garner National Championship fame.
