GAME OF THE WEEK: Women's Ice Hockey vs. Williams College
By Sarah Gelles. Sports Editor
At 3-1, the women's ice hockey team is currently at the top of the NESCAC standings in terms of victories. The Jeffs face their toughest tests yet this weekend, however, when they travel to Williams College and Middlebury College on consecutive nights. So far, the Jeffs have defeated Colby College (0-2-0) in their season opener and Wesleyan University (1-3-0) twice, losing only to Bowdoin College (2-0-0). Both the Ephs and Panthers, however, pose stiff tests. While Williams currently stands at 1-3-0 (1-1-0 in the NESCAC), Amherst-Williams games are almost always close. Middlebury, which has yet to lose, has won the past three National titles and has shown no sign of slowing down this season. Last year, the Jeffs lost all four of their matchups with the Ephs and Panthers, by a combined margin of eight goals.
