This Saturday, the men's basketball team, ranked first in the nation and the only unbeaten team in Div. III, will prepare for the NESCAC Tournament with a game against Little Three rival Wesleyan University. Having beaten Rhode Island College, Wesleyan (6-12, 2-3 NESCAC) at LeFrak should pose no problems for the dominant Amherst team. This week, the Jeffs (21-0, 6-0) attained the top ranking in the d3hoops.com weekly national poll for the first time in three years. They beat out Wooster College and University of Wisconsin-Steven's Point with 18 of 25 first-place votes. Wesleyan, which has suffered a three-game skid prior to this game, lost to the Jeffs by 24 points over Interterm. The Cardinals will have to contend with an imperious Amherst team at the top of its game and gunning for its first-ever NCAA title.
