For Shauneen Garrahan winning never gets old;

This seasoned runner simply refuses to fold.

On Saturday the Tufts track was Garrahan's ground;

She led all competitors each time she went around.

In the 1,000-meter run, Garrahan jumped out at the gun,

And less than three minutes later, the senior was done.

Her sub-three pace did more than win her the race;

Throughout New England, Garrahan's time is in first place.

But the racing wasn't over for fleet-footed Shauneen:

She ran the first leg for the Distance Medley Relay team.

Garrahan's effort gave Amherst a 100-meter lead,

And in their quest for victory, the Jeffs did succeed.

It's the end of the season­-championship meets are in store;

It should be exciting to see how many wins Garrahan can score!
