Bub's Player of the Week: Krystyn Elek '10
By Lauren Benson, Editor-in-Chief
There's no hotter team on campus than women's ice hockey;

The Jeffs' recent success came with the help of their goalie.

She may be just a first-year that stands at five-foot-two,

But when Krystyn Elek plays, it doesn't look like she's new.

This season Elek's been Amherst's fixture in the net;

She seems to make saves without breaking a sweat.

When the competition thickened, Elek was on top of her game;

She put Midd. and Williams' "potent" offenses to shame.

First up were the Panthers, and the first-year saved 39.

Stopping a penalty shot in OT, it was Elek's time to shine.

Next she posted 27 saves; Amherst won its 14th of the year-

Beating the Ephs for the first time gave the Jeffs reason to cheer.

Opponents have come to fear Amherst's Krystyn Elek,

Some of this Jeff's saves are truly psychedelic.
