GAME OF THE WEEK: Women's Ice Hockey vs. Bowdoin Collegee
By Mary Doris Reggie, Sports Editor
After winning its first ever game in the NESCAC Tournament last weekend against Williams College, the women's ice hockey team will travel to Middlebury College this Saturday to face Bowdoin College in the NESCAC semifinals. Second-ranked Bowdoin has advanced to the finals for the past four years in a row, falling to Middlebury three out of those four years. The Polar Bears are no doubt looking for another chance to win the championship. The Jeffs fell to Bowdoin earlier in the season; however, in their latest match-up Amherst tied the Polar Bears 3-3. Although the Jeffs find themselves in an unfamiliar postion in postseason play, Amherst has a plethora of young talent led by a superb group of veteran players. This will certainly be a tough match for the Jeffs, but with the chance to advance to the NESCAC Championship on the line, it is guaranteed to be one of the most exciting games of the season.
