Bub's Player of the Week: Krystyn Elek '10
By Lauren Benson, Editor-in-Chief
Winning a NESCAC Championship is not an easy task,

Yet Krystyn Elek showed great poise behind the goalie mask.

The rookie netminder delivered a performance beyond her years,

And in the end it was the Amherst squad erupting in cheers.

The Polar Bears were the Jeffs' opponent in the semifinal game;

To beat Bowdoin for the first time was Amherst's aim.

Elek did her part, stopping 30 shots on net;

An Amherst goal in OT ended Bowdoin's threat.

Middlebury had the top seed and tournament experience to boot,

But Elek stopped nearly every shot the Panthers could shoot.

Elek amassed 65 saves in over 100 minutes of action;

Another overtime goal was to Amherst's satisfaction.

Amherst has established itself as a viable hockey threat;

Watch out NCAA: Elek and the Jeffs are not done yet!
