After one week of the season, junior Neal Allar is already making headlines. With an impressive Spring Break performance in Fort Myers, Fla., Allar was named the NESCAC Player of the Week. During the week, Allar managed a .483 batting average and is still maintaining a six-game hitting streak. For the Jeffs' four games, Allar provided 15 RBIs, with a 4-for-4 performance against Fredonia State that included a double, a grand slam and a pair of singles, adding up to 18 runs. After a week like this, the Jeffs will look to Allar's talent to propel them this season.
•Ultimate Frisbee: Army of Darkness
In their first tournament of the spring season the men's ultimate team, Army of Darkness, won the High-Tide Tournament in Savannah, Ga., during Spring Break. The team dominated in pool play, going 6-0, to reach the quarterfinals. They jumped out to an early lead against Princeton University-a team they had not beaten in many years-and held on to win 13-11. Next they faced Grinnell College, and went on to win 12-3. In the finals, the AOD took on a determined University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee squad, and, after playing their best game of the tournament, went on to clinch the title 13-12 on universe point.
