Attacker Amy Craig '09 was named NESCAC Player of the Week after scoring five goals in three of the Jeffs' past six lacrosse games. Her most notable performance was against Springfield College, in which she scored all but two of the Jeffs' goals, leading Amherst to a 7-6 win over the Pride. In NESCAC rankings, Craig currently has the second highest number of goals on the season. She has totalled 20 scores in the Jeffs' six games. Craig has certainly made a great start to the season; keep an eye on this scoring machine as the Jeffs look to continue trumping any team that stands in their way.
• Zach Lerner '09
Sophomore Zach Lerner had another excellent pair of matches for the Jeffs on Saturday against Bates College. Helping Amherst improve their 2006-07 record to a stellar 8-1, Lerner took his first-singles match 6-2, 6-3. It was his doubles match, however, that was the highlight of an otherwise easy day for the Jeffs. Lerner and partner Tal Avrahami '08 defeated Bates' top duo 9-8, with an 8-6 tiebreaker. In the past week, Lerner has dominated his competition. From the first singles position, he has won all three of his matches, leading the Jeffs to victories in each.
