Game of the Week: Women's Lacrosse vs. Williams College
By Sarah Gelles, Sports Editor
At 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the NESCAC, the women's lacrosse team is tied for second in the conference with archrival Williams College. The Jeff's largest margin of victory to date was six, in a 13-7 win over Connecticut College, while four of their six victories have been by three goals or less. The Jeffs hope for a big victory this weekend. Briody leads the offense with 12 goals and 24 asssts for 34 points, eight of which came in the team's victory over Trinity College last Wednesday. Sophomore Amy Craig '09, who scored five goals in each of Amherst's two games last week, was named NESCAC Player of the Week a week ago. And the team as a whole is eager to wash the bad taste out of their mouth from its 11-3 loss to Middlebury on Saturday. More than just a match between archrivals, this game will have huge playoff implications.
