• Alyssa Briody '07

The Jeffs picked the right time to come together. After consecutive losses to Middlebury and Babson Colleges, Amherst's offense exploded on Saturday, taking down rival Williams College by the score of 13-6. Senior quad-captain Alyssa Briody led the Jeffs on the day with six points on two goals and four assists. Briody has provided strong leadership to the underclassmen this season, while also leading the Amherst attack with 43 points. More than half of her points come from assists, which exemplifes her team-first approach. She is second in the NESCAC with 2.75 assists per game.

• Thomas McDonnell '10

In the Jeffs' biggest game of the season thus far, first-year Thomas McDonnell came through when his teammates needed him most. McDonnell scored the game-winner in overtime to take the contest from archrival Williams College. Throughout regulation, the Jeffs were carried by two upperclassmen: junior T. J. Jackson and senior Derek Cherney. Cherney, who scored five goals in the game, tied the score at 9-9 with four minutes remaining. As well as the Jeffs played however, it would have meant nothing without McDonnell's score with 1:27 left in overtime. The tally was the rookie's 17th of the season.
