Shauneen Garrahan has won Div. III races year after year;

Now she's a runner even Div. I athletes have come to fear.

On Saturday the track and field team headed to UMass;

The competition was tough, but the Jeffs were up to the task.

Garrahan posted Amherst's first win of the day,

Racing the steeplechase in a very dominant way.

A UNH runner joined Garrahan for most of the race,

But on the last lap the Jeff took off at a blistering pace.

The event marks some milestones that cannot be ignored:

Her personal best run set a UMass facility record.

Garrahan's time is the second-best ever by a Div. III athlete,

Yet it was the first time this year she ran this event in a meet.

Though she is a senior, Garrahan will put in many more miles;

She is only four seconds away from the 2008 Olympic Trials!
