A three-game series against Middlebury puts the Jeffs to test;
With a series win, Amherst is atop the NESCAC West.
Jared Banner led the way from the designated hitter spot;
The number of hits he amassed certainly was a lot.
In the second game, Banner batted in the winning run;
Amherst took the close victory by a score of 2-1.
The next game was not as close, and Banner played his part;
In the 16-6 win, the enitre Jeff team showed its heart.
Two days later, Amherst played a very offensive game;
Banner's bat in particular could not be tamed.
The senior was 4-6 at the plate and scored three runs,
He also had five RBIs to showoff his big guns.
Amherst will look for Banner to keep hitting at this pace;
Soon the Jeffs will be competing in the NESCAC playoff race.
