GAME OF THE WEEK: Women's Lacrosse vs. Colby College
By Brittany Berckes, Sports Editor
This weekend the ninth-ranked women's lacrosse team will face the White Mules of Colby College in the NESCAC semifinals, hosted by Middlebury College. This will be the second match-up between the two squads in two weeks, with Colby taking the first game by a score of 11-6. However, the Jeffs are confident they can avenge the loss. Strong performances by attackers Amy Craig '09 and Alyssa Briody '07 have been components of the Jeffs' success and the pair will look to propel Amherst to the finals. This weekend, a trip to the Div. III National Tournament is on the line. The Jeffs have reached the NCAAs six times in the last eight years. Five of those times, Amherst made it to the semifinal round, and they won it all in 2003.
