Players of the Week: Women's Cross Country

For a year, the women’s cross country team’s goal has been in place:

To be the best team in the Div. III National Championship race.

After dominating their opponents meet after meet this fall,

The Jeffs completed an amazing season by winning it all.

Heather Wilson’s 12th-place finish led the Amherst team once again;

Next in 22nd, Elise Tropiano was also named All-American.

Kim Partee fell early in the race, but recovered to take the 36th spot;

Caitlin Murphy led the middle pack and the jeffs could not be caught.

As the lone underclassman, Sophie Galleher did her part in the scoring;

With Nicole Anderson as Amherst’s sixth runner, the Jeffs were soaring.

Meg Ray was right behind to complete the Amherst domination;

The Jeffs are National Champions after a year of anticipation.

It was a total team effort, with contributions from each member;

The best season in Amherst history will be one to remember.
