The weather was great-everyone wanted to be outside;
Fans flocked to Gooding Field to show their Lord Jeff pride.
It was a special day for Amherst athletics and the men's soccer team;
The field was dedicated in honor of Peter Gooding's long regime.
Coming into the game against Bowdoin, the Jeffs were undefeated;
And in front of the large crowd, a win was really needed.
Junior Jake Duker was there to give the Jeffs a 1-0 lead;
Scoring a goal at just 12:05 off a Taylor Downs feed.
The Jeffs scored three and held the Polar Bears to zero;
Once again Duker proved to be a Lord Jeff hero.
Last Wednesday Duker contributed another timely score;
Down the stretch, the Jeffs will look to Duker for even more.
The junior star leads the team in goals, with a total of five;
At 7-0 this season the Jeffs' National Championship hopes are alive.
