GAME OF THE WEEK: Football vs. Wesleyan University
This Saturday, the Jeffs will confront Little Three rival Wesleyan University. Having defeated Wesleyan last year in a 23-0 shutout, Amherst will be walking into the match with confidence.
The Jeffs, at 3-1, are ranked second in the NESCAC standings and have dropped their only game to Middlebury College. Their offense has dominated the majority of their opponents, and their defense has been dynamic.
Quarterback Lucas Loeffler '10 provided two touchdowns and had 170 passing yards in the most recent match against Colby College. Junior A.J. Scola also increased his season total of interceptions to four.
The Jeffs, however, will have to remain vigilant. The NESCAC named Wesleyan senior Zach Librizzi the Offensive Player of the Week, and Cardinal Justin Freres picked up Rookie of the Week honors.
