• Sean Doerfler '11

Even as a first-year, Sean Doerfler has proved to be a key player in men's tennis. Doerfler served his way to the top of the "B" singles bracket, winning the lone title for Amherst at the Wallach Invitational this past weekend. He then paired with senior captain Mike Mintz to win a round against Skidmore College, losing to the eventual finalists from Bowdoin College.

The rookie has had an impressive start to his collegiate career. At the Cornell Invitational, he won his first opening round in Flight B. He also teamed up with Alex Kaufman '10 for doubles at Salve Regina University; Their 8-4 win at the number one spot helped the Jeffs earn their first team victory of the fall.

• John Kneeland '08

Tri-captain John Kneeland's skills as a midfielder have been invaluable to the Jeffs this year. Kneeland made the NESCAC All-Academic team last year, and has been instrumental thus far in the Jeffs' incredible 11-0 start.

The senior refuses to remain content with just passing the ball upfield. While already he places second on the team in assists with five, he is also the clear leader in the percentage of shots that find the back of the net at 40% for four goals.

He has also netted game-winning goals in matches against ECSU and Colby. Kneeland will be a leading force throughout the rest of the fall.
