When the Jeffs needed it most, their offensive leader delivered. Despite trailing visiting Western New England College 1-0 in the first half, then 2-1 in the second half, the Jeffs managed to equalize the score. With a mere 21 seconds left in regulation, Downs took a pass from teammate Nick Lynch ’08 to score the winning goal of the game.

The exciting win leads Amherst into Round 16 of the NCAA Championships.
