PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Tarasai Karega '09
By Lauren Benson, Senior Staff Writer
The women’s ice hockey team’s success garners a lot of attention;

The Jeffs have earned respect as a result of their ascension.

Opponents are well aware of Tarasai Karega’s skill on offense:

Her 20 goals last season led Amherst and the conference.

Karega has a presence on the ice, though her stature is small;

On the penalty kill, power play and at even strength, she does it all.

Against Middlebury, Karega’s talent was on display;

Her scoring chances were followed by shouts for “TK.”

The next game on offense Karega was more than just a threat;

Three times she had a hand in finding the back of Williams’ net.

Her first-period goal broke open the then scoreless game;

She followed that with a power play tally in the second frame.

Karega added an assist and the Jeffs wallowed in the 7-0 win;

A 4-0-2 record is a great way for the season to begin!
