Game of the Week: Women's Ice Hockey at Middlebury College
By Anjie Zheng, Sports Editor
The Amherst College women’s hockey team (14-3-2) sits second only to Middlebury College (16-1-2) in the NESCAC rankings. The women haven’t lost a game since the beginning of January, and haven’t lost a conference game this entire season.

The team is led by Head Coach Jim Plumer, named NESCAC Coach of the Year last year, and senior co-captains Julie Radziewicz and Megan Quinn. Last year’s team went 20-7-3 (10-3-3 NESCAC) en route to winning the NESCAC title in their 2006-07 campaign.

Top Amherst forwards include junior Tarasai Karega, sophomore Kate Dennett, and first-year Courtney Hanlon. The Jeffs also ave an air-tight defense, with goalie Krystyn Elek following up her phenomenal rookie campaign with an equally impressive sophomore season. With both teams vying for first-place NESCAC ranking, and a chance to host the NESCAC Tournament, Saturday’s game is sure to be an exciting one.
