Game of the Week: Women's Basketball vs. Colby College
By Jasmine Yang, Sports Editor
The Amherst women’s basketball team clinched its standing as the number one seed in the upcoming NESCAC Tournament. This past Saturday, the Jeffs passed by the Trinity College Bantams, 77-51. Since Bowdoin and Williams Colleges suffered important losses on the same day, Amherst ended up in possession of the top spot going into the NESCAC Championships.

Senior tri-captains Shaina Pollack, Stefanie Reiff and Anne-Claire Roesch will be a triple threat against the Colby College Mules. Roesch recently set a new career-high, scoring 20 points against Trinity.

Reiff has tallied more than 1,000 career points, becoming the eighth player in Amherst women’s basketball history to do so. Pollack is a leading force for the team, sitting in first for free throw percentage and assists-per-game. First-year Sarah Leyman has had an impressive rookie performance so far, reflecting the depth of young talent on the Jeffs’ side.
