GAME OF THE WEEK: Indoor Track & Field, Open New Englands
By Anjie Zheng, Sports Editor
The Amherst College women and men’s indoor track and field teams will face schools from all over New England, including Div. I schools, at Boston University this weekend at the Open New England Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The women finished 11th overall at the meet last year. This year, they are coming off a fifth place finish last weekend at the Div. III New England Championships. The team was led by two first-place wins from seniors Heather Wilson and Kim Partee, in the 3,000- and 5,000-meter runs, respectively.

Though the team lost valuable seniors to graduation last year, they welcomed several new talented first-years to the fray, including sprinters Kristen Ballinger and Susan Wasserman.

The men, led by co-captains Peter Foote ’09 and Mike Harbus ’08, have had a solid season thus far. They finished 17th at the Div. II New England Championships, grabbing a handful of personal bests along the way.
