Game of the Week: Men’s Tennis vs. Bowdoin College
By Jasmine Yang, Sports Editor
The men’s tennis team served up a spectacular performance at the start of the spring season, completely sweeping the matches against Oglethorpe and Sewanee Universities. Amherst’s singles were especially impressive, and the doubles teams continued to step up their game throughout the season.

Amherst is currently ranked first in the NESCAC with a 1-1 conference mark and a 7-5 overall record. Senior co-captains Jeff Wan and Mike Mintz have contributed valuable leadership and acted as key players in close matches. Fellow senior Tal Avrahami is a leading force in doubles also. The Jeffs, in addition, have depth in the talented ranks of returning players and a trio of rookies.

The upcoming match against Bowdoin College should be a competitive one. The Polar Bears are ranked third in the NESCAC with 3-1 conference record. Bowdoin senior Garrett Gates was an All-American last season and leads a solid team along with fellow co-captain Noah Buntman.
