Alexandra Chang-Graham ’10 earned NESCAC Pitcher of the Week honors this week. Striking out 13 batters, her performance resulted in double wins against NESCAC West rivals and kept the Jeffs in the running for playoffs.
Her pitching was responsible for the complete-game shutout against Wesleyan University and another complete-game win against Middlebury College. Chang-Graham ranks second in the NESCAC in earned run average at an incredibly low 1.86, and holds a season record of 7-6. Returning to top form after a solid stint as a rookie hurler, Chang-Graham is gaining momentum as a competitive pitcher.
Jimmy Swanson ’10—Outdoor Track & Field
Sophomore Jimmy Swanson has proven to be a valuable middle-distance runner for the Jeffs. At the UMass-Amherst Invitational on April 12, Swanson placed fourth in the 800-meter run. Despite having flown to Hartford at four in the morning, Swanson performed at top speed.
This past weekend, he bested Williams and Wesleyan runners to take first place in the 800 at the Little Three Championships. Swanson gave a final burst of speed at the last stretch of the race to claim victory on home track. As a leading runner in outdoor track, Swanson is having a stellar season.
