Spring 2008 Postseason
By Peter Stein, Sports Editor
As the spring season has ended for many teams, four squads still remain active in postseason play. The upcoming weeks will be important, as these teams all have the ability to make a splash in conference and national play.

Outdoor Track

The men and women will compete in the Div. III New England Championships at the United States Coast Guard Academy this Friday and Saturday. The following weekend the Jeffs will travel to Springfield College for the ECAC Championships and in two weeks, those who qualify will participate in NCAAs at UW-Osh Kosh.

Women’s Lacrosse

Seeded second in the NESCAC Tournament, the Jeffs will take on third-seeded Trinity College in the semifinal round at Middlebury College this Saturday. If the Jeffs advance, they will play in the championship game on the following day.

Women’s Tennis

The Jeffs head into the national tournament as the number two seed. After a first round bye, the Jeffs will face the winner of Skidmore College and Suffolk University on May 3 at Amherst. The Jeffs will host the first three rounds of the tournament. Last season the Jeffs reached the finals, and lost to Washington and Lee University, who is undefeated and is the number one overall seed on the other side of the bracket.

Baseball

On Sunday, the Jeffs will take on Williams College to determine whether they finish first or second in the NESCAC West. Following this big game, the Jeffs will compete in the NESCAC Tournament from May 9-11. With success in the tournament, the Jeffs could compete at regionals and nationals in the following weeks.
