GAME OF THE WEEK: Baseball vs. St. Joseph's College
By Jasmine Yang, Sports Editor
The Jeffs face several non-conference games on the way to the NESCAC Championships, and the doubleheader against Saint Joseph’s College, Me. promises to be a challenge.

Amherst is currently ranked at second place in the NESCAC West Division, with senior captains Josh Card and Neal Allar setting the pace for a talented team. Card has a solid batting average of 0.346 and has tallied 28 runs for the season so far. Senior Chris Edgar’s pitching helped the Jeffs sweep the doubleheader against St. Michael’s College this past weekend, and first-year pitcher Jeff Keenan has twice received NESCAC Pitcher of the Week honors. Keenan’s performance has helped the Jeffs earn a bid to this year’s NESCAC Championships.

The Monks, however, are competitive contenders. They won their fourth conference championship, while shortstop Luke Enman ’08 was named GNAC’s Player of the Year and third baseman Ian Lee ’11 received Rookie of the Year honors.
